Musk Ox Safari Dovrefjell – How It Works

We meet at Dovrefjell Lodge reception at 09:00. We drive together to the trailhead, leave the cars, and head out on foot into the wilderness of Dovrefjell National Park. Expect 14–17 km of stunning mountain terrain – a full day out in nature with an experienced local guide.

No need to stay overnight elsewhere – your lodge, your safari, and your dinner are all in one place.

Own car is requested for the Musk Ox Safari.

Remember lunch-pack (not included) and good clothes and shoes.

  • It's a full-day experience covering approximately 14–17 km on foot through Dovrefjell National Park.

  • Yes – our guides know Dovrefjell extremely well. We always find them.

  • The safari involves a full day of hiking. We recommend it for older children and adults comfortable walking longer distances in mountain terrain

  • Sturdy hiking boots, weather-appropriate layers, packed lunch, and a camera.
